The Not So Great Escape

I was finally out, after

plotting and planning,

laying low. I

spied an opening and

went for it, even as

Covid was sneaking in,

infecting, insidiously

changing the dynamics–

shutting down new frontiers,

freezing me in place, again,

pausing my life. So

ironic, a black comedy, my

existence, (what existence?)–

different place, different

prison. Still, there is hope,

always, there is hope. May

2021 finally spring us,

rescue us. May we be

free as high

soaring birds, may we

sing songs of

freedom.
